Johann Wolf is a centuries old estate in the warm Pfalz region of Germany, which was historically important as the most successful producer in the 19th century. The estate eventually fragmented as it was split among his heirs, and today the former lands form the basis of two of the top producers in Pfalz, Burklin-Wolf and Villa Wolf. The remaining Johann Wolf estate produces affordable delicious wines with the legendary Dr Ernst Loosen as winemaker. Dornfelder is the most planted red grape in Pfalz, and makes a delicious, smooth, sweet red perfect for serving with Black Forest Cake
