January 2026 Wine Class: Chenin Blanc
January 2026 Wine Class: Chenin Blanc
Join us Wednesday, January 28 at 6 pm for our first wine class of 2026, focusing on the grape Chenin Blanc. We will taste the wines listed below and have a few small bites paired with the wines to highlight what Chenin Blanc has to offer.
Our very own Chef Paul Kulik will lead this class. We will learn about this highly versatile white wine grape from France's Loire Valley, known for its high acidity and a range from bone-dry to lusciously sweet, often featuring quince, apple, and honey notes. From France's mineral driven wines, to the New World style of South Africa, Chenin has much to offer.
Along with three other producers we love, we are very excited to pour for you wine from Famille Joly, one of the most exalted biodynamic producers in all of France. Joly wines showcase what natural wine is capable of by making terroir driven, age worthy wines. For this class we will taste their most prized wine, the Coulee de Serrant. This is considered by many the epitome of Chenin Blanc and should be tried at least once in a lifetime.
We will taste the following wines and snacks will be provided:
Stolpman Pet Nat Chenin Blanc
A.A. Badenhorst Secateurs Chenin Blanc Swartland
Fabien Duveau Saumur Les Poyeux 2022
Famille Joly Coulee de Serrant 2021
The class will be Wednesday, January 28, from 6pm - 7:30pm. We suggest making reservations for dinner afterwards if you are interested in something a little more filling.
See you there!
