This lively Grüner Veltliner offers an expressive nose of lemon, grapefruit, and white grape juice.  On the palate, you’ll find green apple, grapefruit, and pear with a touch of white pepper.

The roots of today's Helenental winery can be found in the former Retz-Röschitz wine cooperative. This was founded in 1942 in the north-eastern Weinviertel. The successful cooperative was always an important economic factor for Röschitz and the surrounding communities. The wines of the cooperative have received countless awards over the years. However, the greatest award went to one of the red wines, a Blauer Portugieser, which was served at the signing of the Austrian State Treaty in 1955. The cooperative only closed its doors for good in 2013 and the company has been in private hands ever since.

Today, the Helenental Winery works the grapes from around 200 hectares of vineyards, every harvest. The focus is particularly on traditional Austrian grape varieties such as Grüner Veltliner and Zweigelt, but Riesling and Pinot Blanc are also vinified. Another specialty of the winery is the so-called mixed set (Gemischter Satz), a wine made from a combination of different grape varieties that grow together in one vineyard.

“Experiencing how the Helenental Kellerei has developed successfully since 2013 fills us with great joy and gives us strength for future challenges,” says Walther Schnopfhagen, owner and visionary, who has been connected to the wine landscape in the northwestern Weinviertel since his childhood. His goal is to establish the Helenental Kellerei as a successful company in the Austrian wine industry. After many years as an auditor and tax advisor, this task is a major challenge that he is happy to take on together with his team.
