Austria & Germany Wine Class 2025

Join us Monday, January 27 at 6pm, for our first wine class of 2025!

We will be tasting the wines of Austria and Germany this time around. Two producers will be joining us as we taste some of their wines and learn a little about the people who make them and the lands they come from.

Joining us will be Andi Spreitzer from Weingut Josef Spreitzer in the Rheingau, Germany and Hanna Glatzer from Weinkeller Walter Glatzer in Carnuntum, Austria.

The Spreitzer estate, founded in 1641 and one of the oldest in the Rheingau, benefits from a long tradition in winemaking as well as the recent modern winemaking innovations of sons Andreas and Bernd Spreitzer who have controlled the estate since 1997. Bernd and Andreas were the Gault Millau’s Discovery of the Year Award recipients in 2001.

Hanna is Walter Glatzer’s daughter, Walter produces excellent, classic wines in Carnuntum, just south of Vienna. Hanna is 21 and until 2 years ago was attending university and majoring in pre-law. She realized that her true passion was in winemaking and decided to transfer to the esteemed German winemaking school in Geisenheim. At the same time, she also started making natural wines from her family’s certified organic vineyards. With help from her younger brother Mattias, she is producing delicious and drinkable, playful wines. 

We will taste 4 wines;

Weinkeller Walter Glatzer, Gruner Veltliner 'Dornenvogel'

Weingut Spreitzer, Oestricher Lenchen Riesling Spatlese '303'

Weingut Spreitzer, Hattenheimer Engelmannsberg Riesling Feinherb

Hanna Glatzer (Weingut Walter Glatzer), Cabernet Sauvignon

This class costs $35 and will be held from 6pm - 7:30 pm. Light snacks will be served. We suggest making reservations at Le Bouillon for before or after the class if you are interested. Wine will be available for purchase after the class. If there are any dietary restrictions let us know before the class and we will accommodate.
